Diego was amazing! We told him who we were (old but not dead) and what we wanted (more forest than beach) and he listened. His plan was a... read more 21-day drive and stay adventure that was perfect for us. Going on a great adventure means (safely) getting out of your comfort zone – anxiety without harm. Some of the roads were narrow, steep, and twisty, but traveled without incident and minimal held breaths. The fifteen-minute walk alone through the dark forest to our Treehouse was full of noises and imagination but also the satisfaction of finding some of the critters we had been shown on our guided night walk. Sure, the provided google map route took us on a 3k “short cut” on a one-lane stone road through a dairy herd, but it came out at
the right place and when was the last time you had cow breath in your window.
The trip was not all adventure, there was a lot of learning. We went on tours and saw frogs, snakes, butterflies, frogs, monkeys, sloths, frogs, dolphins, cacao plants, frogs, iguanas, coffee plants, frogs, spiders, one giant crocodile and heard the stories of each. Having a guide is a must. We could have traveled the same paths and we would not have seen a thing. The guides Diego found were terrific at explaining the fauna and flora and being patient while we took five minutes to see what they were pointing at. Sloths were really hard to see. I would find it, take my eyes off it, and never find it again. Maybe the guides have some secret power to “show” us what we want to see, even if it is not there. But then they take a picture of it – and send us the picture. Superb!
Finally, there were the accommodations that ranged from a “primitive” (not) treehouse with a king-size bed and full bath to truly luxurious room with a private hot tub. Of all the places we stayed my best memories were the showers. One shower had glass walls looking out into the forest canopy, one had two showers, one inside and one in an outside garden, and another shower had a glass wall viewing the forest and Avenal volcano.
Throughout our visit we were impressed with the sanitation measures in place at businesses and in the parks regarding COVID. Always someone at the entrance to make sure everyone has a face covering, and they wash their hands - at businesses both large and small.
Diego put all of that together for us and took the time to check in with us throughout the journey to make sure all was well. This adventure went off without a single glitch. Amazing, I cannot orchestrate my breakfast at home for twenty-one days without something going wrong.
Myself and my six friends go on a girls trip every year and this year we decided to go to Costa Rica. We found this particular package through... read more Bookmundi and booked it online. Overall, we had an amazing trip, but we had some hiccups along the way. For example, when we arrived in San Jose we were greeted by a gentlemen who worked for Green World Adventure and told escorted us to hear our transportation was waiting. The driver did not speak any English and could not answer any of our questions. We got dropped off at the hotel in San Jose with a packet of information, but no verbal explanation from anyone. I later found out the guy who was supposed to pick us up from the airport had car issues and they needed a replacement last minute. The next morning we woke up bright and early to go rafting, but the transportation was 30 minutes late. I was not happy with our experience thus far so I called Green World and they explained to me that all the information was in the packet that they gave us: list of vendors, pick up times, confirmation numbers etc. IT IS IMPORTANT to know that Green World is simply the booking agent, they are not a tour guide and will not be with you as you travel to your excursions. Our group was under the impression that someone from Green World would help us every step of the way. After those two hiccups, things started to smooth out, the excurions they selected were absolutely amazing. However, in the itinerary, the "short trail walk" is not a short trail walk it is an hour and a half hike so BE PREPARED. Something that needs to be incorporated in the information packet is how long each excursions is. We did not realize rafting was 4 hours, the Arenal "walk" was more of a hike. So Green World needs to update their information. This eco adventure tour consists of long days and lots of travel to be prepared. Like I mentioned, you rarely see anyone from Green World, however we LOVED Filipe, he was amazing. He should be the designated airport transfer because he knows SO MUCH! Also, be aware you are staying in 3 star hotels. Basic accommodations for short night stays. Overall, we had an amazing experience, but be prepared to be flexible and put your trust in the travel agency.
There are so many amazing places to visit in Costa Rica that it was a bit daunting to plan our first trip there from scratch. I turned to Kimkim.com and... read more fortunately got matched with GWA. Karol paid attention to our needs and booked us a phenomenal custom itinerary. The trip itself went off without a hitch. All guides were on time, thorough, and infectious with their excitement about sharing their wonderful country. We plan to return someday and would gladly use GWA again.
We used Green World Adventures to book an awesome, action-packed, 8-day honeymoon trip to Costa Rica and they were awesome! Everything was incredibly easy. They were professional, organized, and communicative... read more from start to finish, and helped us personalize our trip to add activities we wanted. We loved all the companies and activities they booked for us. I would definitely recommend them!
The itinerary was very detailed and well arranged. There were no hiccups and we were able to successfully navigate the trip without a guide who was with us throughout.
We wanted to visit CR but had no idea where to start planning. My sister is a travel agent and said she heard great things about Green World Adventures so... read more we took a chance and booked a 9 day adventure trip for our family of 4. We could not have enjoyed it more!! They arranged everything perfectly. The drivers were professional and punctual (we watched so many other people waiting in distress for their transports who were late or at the wrong place). GWA booked our tours/excursions with companies who were as equally professional, punctual, safe, and reliable!! We were given a detailed itinerary upon our arrival and a number to call with any questions (hint: download Whats app before you arrive). We had some last minute requests and Green World responded quickly to our requests and made them happen without delay. We literally worried about nothing. I accidentally left my $200 sunglasses in one of the transport vans and GWA returned them to my hotel the next morning. As if all of this isn’t reason enough to book with them, they are very ecologically conscious and charity oriented. One note: be sure to discuss hotel preferences when you book. Economy hotels in CR can be a little sparse and my sore muscles longed for a little more comfort after several days. This was simply a Fabulous experience!
